WHAT WE DO

We generate high-precision business intelligence in healthcare and finance. To gather insight others don’t have, our custom-built NLP algorithms analyze a massive corpora of unstructured text (online and proprietary). Founded by two MIT PhDs, we are a small team of researchers, programmers, and businessmen supported by angels, Federal grants, & Fortune 500 clients.

OUR CHALLENGES
Our datasets are very large. Our system for handling them is not nearly as good as we’d like. Developing large-scale distributed systems for processing and analyzing all of this text necessitates highly qualified engineers (you).

Our clients need enterprise-grade SaaS. Our web applications are not nearly as slick as we’d like them to be. We need independent hackers with experience in building slick SaaS apps (front & backend) to move from technology to product.

ABOUT US

  • We are primarily a Java shop. We use GWT, Jetty, Solr, MongoDB, and Amazon EC2. Comfort with C++ is desirable.
  • We offer a flexible and relaxed office environment (PS3, Nespresso, Sonos / Spotify, snacks).
  • Our engineers get to run OSX or Ubuntu.
  • We are conveniently located near the Lechmere T station in Somerville MA (and are opening an office in NYC).

AS A DEVELOPER YOU WILL

  • Join a team creating a business intelligence platform that analyzes online text to produce actionable advice, not word clouds.
  • Provide leadership, code discipline, and project design by example. Work closely with others to build a solid product stack.
  • Engineer solutions for storing, running, and presenting complex analysis on top of a large volume of unstructured text.
  • [BACKEND] Get your hands dirty implementing a SaaS information delivery architecture. Deploy to and manage apps in the cloud.
  • [FRONTEND] Develop visualization and interaction mechanisms that render a beautiful, consistent output. Educate us on the possibilities. We do not need to support older browsers, so you are free to unleash your creative knowledge.
